siting of Future water wells

RockSolid is currently carrying out many localized subsurface studies using observation of surface and geophysical exploration, with the aim of highlighting depths of rock alteration and any underground discontinuities likely to allow groundwater to flow under the targeted sites. Our teams are working in the south-east and south of Madagascar, in collaboration with BushProof and …

Underground studies in fuel depots

RockSolid carried out studies of the underground in the fuel depots of Logistique Pétrolière SA (LPSA) located in Maintirano, Antalaha, Maroantsetra, Antsahampano and Nosy-Be. The aim of the surveys was to identify the underground structure with a view to installing groundwater observation wells at each site. The piezometers were then installed by BushProof Sàrl.

Work on Water ressource for a brewery

In March 2023, RockSolid carried out a siting study for the future wells planned to be built on the site of the STAR brewery in Diego-Suarez, to enable the brewery to increase its production. Hydrogeological considerations and the impact of production were also discussed. Client : Groupe STAR

Hydrogeological study in Diego-Suarez

RockSolid carried out an interesting hydrogeological study of the urbanised peninsula of Diego-Suarez and then focused on a few parts of town in order to highlight the possibilities for abstracting groundwater. This study was initiated by the Experts-Solidaires organisation.

Extensive work on the knowledge of water resources in southern Madagascar

RockSolid‘s hydrogeologists, together with BushProof and with the support of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid (SHA), participated in a project on the knowledge of the aquifers of southern Madagascar. This project consisted of collecting existing data, verifying it, acquiring important and missing data, creating a reliable database and creating a useful mapping tool, in order to …

Investigation work on a hydraulic structure

RockSolid was recently commissioned by Ambatovy Minerals to analyse a water retention structure that was leaking at its base. The material resistivity measurements carried out on the dam highlighted the areas of water transit, enabling remediation options to be discussed and designed.

Groundwater survey in limestone and karstic area

RockSolid has participated to an extensive hydrogeological study of the area between Andranovory and Toliara in southwestern Madagascar. This limestone area has no surface water and a deep regional aquifer showing karstic development. Groundwater exploitation in the area is known to be complicated. RockSolid works here with Experts-Solidaires and has been able to determine interesting …

Looking for Groundwater in arid climate area

RockSolid is currently working for its partner BushProof on a UNICEF contract as part of the response to the drought situation in the South of Madagascar and the construction of new water wells. The underground survey that we undertake are carried out throughout all the South, and its different geological and hydrogeological contexts.

underground profiles

RockSolid recently worked on a massive exploration for a future graphite extraction and processing site in the Ampanihy region of southwestern Madagascar. RockSolid carried out 20 km of resistivity and electromagnetic profiles up to 140 m deep, over an area of 80 km2. The study is part of a hydrogeological survey that takes place prior …
